ABOUT ME

Stephanie Singleton is a passionate, committed social advocate with formal training in Social Work and Sociology. Complementing her real-world experience in psychotherapy and program management, Stephanie provides great consultation and advice to the social service sector. Her broad skill set derives from her diverse work background with federal agencies, public and charter school systems, nonprofits and Higher Education Institutions. Stephanie is adept at creating social programs for young children, managing significant numbers of workforce personnel, and providing firm expertise in early childhood education and development.

 

Working as an Early Childhood Social Worker, Stephanie is also pursuing her Ph.D. in Social Work at Morgan State University; her research interest consists of social-emotional learning programs and their impact on African American students in early childhood education.

 

Stephanie is a Licensed Graduate Social Worker by the D.C. Department of Health and a Licensed Master Social Worker by the Maryland Department of Health.

Educational Background

B.A. Applied Sociology 

University of Tampa

While receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, Stephanie completed the Applied concentration focusing on Children & Families. With a passion for community service, Stephanie served as a Bonner Leader and Intern at United Way Suncoast. Striving for a holistic academic experience, Stephanie completed two years as an undergraduate researcher partnering with Champions for Children to study Child Abuse and Bullying among elementary-aged children. 

Master of Social Work

The Catholic University of America

Pursuing a Master of Social Work, Stephanie was accepted as a clinically trained case manager at LIFT-DC for her foundation practicum. In alignment with her career goals, Stephanie selected the District of Columbia Public School system to complete her clinical practicum. While serving as the Clinical Social Worker for Malcom X Elementary School, Stephanie led an empowerment group focused on young girl's inner strength and resourcefulness. 

Ph.D. in Social Work (expected 2026)

Morgan State University

A proud member of the 2022 cohort, Stephanie is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Social Work at Morgan State University. At this current time, Stephanie is the Social Work Ph.D. Research Assistant for the Miles of Education through Technology (META) Zones, a grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA)
